This is the inaugural prize-winners concert for the Betty O’Brien award. This year the recipient is Wexford violinist Eve Donohoe.

Eve Donohoe is a 17 year old violinist from Wexford. She began her musical education at the age of nine with Emily Redmond, and currently studies with renowned violinist Lynda O'Connor. Eve's musical virtuosity is widely celebrated. She is a multiple prizewinner at the prestigious Feis Ceoil competitions, having been awarded the 'National Vocal Rosebowl' last September in the National Concert Hall. Along with her sister and cousin, she was awarded 1st place in the Family Ensemble competition at the Feis Ceoil in 2022. Additionally, she was awarded first prize on violin in the "Nouvelles Étoiles" International competition last year. She has received a High Achievement award from the R.I.A.M for outstanding performance. Eve has enjoyed performing with many of Ireland’s leading classical musicians and was invited to perform with Musici Ireland for their 'Side by Side' initiative last July. As a versatile musician, Eve also plays traditional music with Bannow CCÉ and is a 3 time All Ireland champion at Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann. More recently, she appeared on the Late Late Toy Show with her grandmother, as a member of "Cuckoo's Nest". She is accompanied by Dearbhla Brosnan.
